Background
Dr. Sharma is a comprehensive men’s health specialist with fellowship training in male infertility, sexual dysfunction, and reconstructive surgery. His practice is focused on men with erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, low testosterone, fertility concerns, urinary complaints related to the bladder, prostate, or urethra, as well as prostate cancer survivorship. He brings advanced training and expertise in contemporary treatments including penile implants, artificial urinary sphincters and slings, urethral reconstruction, and microsurgical techniques.
Dr. Sharma joined Chesapeake Urology in August 2020. Dr. Sharma was born and raised in Montgomery County and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland with a degree in Bioengineering. He graduated with honors from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, then completed Urology Residency and Andrology Fellowship at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Sharma has published numerous studies and reviews and has presented across the nation on topics including penile prosthesis placement, artificial urinary sphincters, improvement in semen parameters, treatment for low testosterone, education and training for cryptorchidism, patient experience with urological specialists, and glutamine supplementation and renal health.
He is an active member of the American Urological Association (AUA) and its Mid-Atlantic Section, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction (SSMR), the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SSMR), and the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons (SUPS).
